什麼方法可以增加記憶力?

健忘不等於老年癡呆症, 專家指出,健忘症和年紀沒有必然關係,而且大多可以改善。記住下面十個祕訣, 讓你的腦袋從此記得更牢靠!「天文學家說,太空是有限的,這對那些老記不得東西放哪裡的人來說,真是個好消息。」──伍迪艾倫也許你不敢承認,但最近你老是忘記──忘記繳水電費、忘記怎麼設定家裡的錄影機、忘記回信、忘記剛剛見過的那個人叫什麼名字;明 明記得要打電話,一轉身卻全忘了。怎麼回事,你老了嗎?
明明正值壯年,為什麼腦袋會漸漸不管用?或者你才剛過半百,難道就要開始老化,擔心老年癡呆症降臨,記憶一去不復返?
根據專家的說法,很多人都有健忘的毛病,而這種暫時性健忘其實是正常的,不必全部歸因於年紀。三、四十歲的人有健忘,最大原因往往是生活太忙碌。因為同時要做太多事情,可能干擾人體的訊息處理系統,進而妨礙記憶能力。當你的腦子裡總是塞滿了工作、家庭和孩子,以及數不完的會議與任務時,再好的腦袋也會有漏接的時候。
好消息是,生活壓力引起的記憶力減退並不是永久性疾病,克服的方法其實不難,甚至還很有趣。而且,愈老愈聰明,並非不可能。研究證明,正常情況下,十分之一的人類,心智能力可以持續增加到八、九十歲以上。

到底,要如何才能增加記憶力,不再健忘,讓腦筋愈老愈不糊塗?如何才能成為那十分之一的人?建議你從今天起,熟練下面這十種加強記憶力的方法:
一 、 想要「頭好」,身體先要「壯壯」:你經常運動嗎?運動能夠促進腦部的血液循環,提高靈敏度,是防止記憶力衰退最好的方法之一。專家推薦你多做有氧運動,特別是需要複雜協調動作的運動,例如跳舞或打網球。
二 、 吃出好記性:人腦要正常運作,維生素與礦物質很重要,平常飲食更要注重維生素B群的攝取。近來也有研究顯示,停經前婦女如果攝取適量的鐵和鋅,有助於加強記憶力。近年來風行歐美健康食品市場的卵磷脂、銀杏葉提煉物,也經不少研究證明具有強化記憶力的效果。
留意自己有沒有高血壓、高膽固醇的毛病。如果你覺得記性變差,請醫生檢查你正在服用的藥,某些藥物(例如治感冒和過敏用的抗組織胺劑、高血壓藥、咳嗽藥、暈車藥、安眠藥和鎮痛藥)對腦力可能會有影響。
三 、 勤做腦力練習:過了五十歲的人,因為腦內的生化轉變,引起一部份腦細胞流失,記性的確會稍微變差。但是新研究指出,並非每個人步入老年都會記性大壞。記憶力測驗結果顯示,八十幾歲的人當中,約有兩、三成老人的表現與三、四十歲的中年人差不多。這些老人不迷糊的關鍵:多做有挑戰性的智力活動。
多動腦不會老,腦筋愈用愈靈光。根據美國賓州州立大學一項追蹤五千名男女長達三十五年的研究結果顯示,應變能力好、喜歡學習新事物、去新的地方、閱讀理解和表達能力高的人,比較容易在老年時維持心智能力。打麻將、玩橋牌、猜謎等益智遊戲,學新電腦軟體 學彈鋼琴等活動,對記性也有幫助,都是讓你人老腦不老的「腦內運動」。
專家也提醒,退休的人容易自我孤立於人群之外,「與世隔絕」對於記憶並不好。要保持對人生、事務的熱誠與興趣,讓腦子永遠不打烊。四 、 集中注意力:要專心,不要貪心,一次想做四十件事情。你所以會忘記,經常是因為分心,或者一直在想接下來要做的事情。必須讓大腦意識自己正在做什麼,否則它無法記憶。集中注意力做手邊正在做的事,如果天天要吃藥,吃的時候就要讓自己很專心,以免後來忘記到底吃過藥了沒。
而且,光是要自己記住還不夠,還要真的設法去記住。一個方法就是大聲說出你要自己記住的事情,例如「我把鑰匙放在餐桌上」、「我要去銀行」。另外,讀書或聽人說話的時候,要不時停下來回想剛才讀到或聽到的內容,想得愈詳細愈好,例如一個東西的外貌、味道,一件事情給你的感覺等。腦子儲存資訊時,給它的細節愈多,記憶的效果也愈好。
五 、 訓練觀察力:有些專家相信,這是防止健忘最好的方式之一。提供你一個練習法:每次去一個新地方(不管是候診室、商店或者朋友家裡),在心中記下房間內十件東西擺放的位置,等你離開的時候,再仔細回想那十件東西剛剛是放在哪裡。
六 、 寫下來:列清單、寫行事曆和日記的方法很重要。萬一清單不見了,也可以從任務的種類(必須打的電話、要付的帳單、要去的地方)著手,一一回想起來。
七 、 圖像化、賦予意義:名字記不住,是最常見的健忘問題。你必須學一點小技巧,比方,運用視覺或者語言上的聯想來幫助記憶。建議你多多用圖思考,據說達文西、愛迪生和亨利福特等人都是運用「圖畫式日記」來幫助發想。

學習放鬆技巧,同樣有助於強化記憶力。緊張時,人的記性往往更差,專家建議,可以利用短短幾分鐘的時間,想像一個寧靜的空間,例如海邊,讓感官的各種知覺與它連結:看看並聽聽海浪、感覺到微風、嗅到新鮮空氣、深呼吸一下。放鬆之後,記性也會復甦起來。
十 、 睡前閱讀:另外一個不費吹灰之力便能改進記憶力的方法,就是在上床睡覺之前看書、看資料。實驗顯示,同樣的資料,睡前閱讀的人所記憶的閱讀內容,多過在一天當中其他時間閱讀的人。專家認為,這可能是因為睡前閱讀的資訊在你睡覺時單獨留在腦中,少了其他因素干擾,記憶效果因而提高。
最後還要一提,你要如何判斷自己記憶力減退究竟正不正常、會不會是老人癡呆症的前兆?事實上,醫生說,如果你會擔心自己記憶力愈來愈差的話,恭喜你,你八成很正常。反倒是會說「我覺得自己很好呀,只有我老婆常說我健忘」的那些人,可能比較危險。
另外一點,得了老人癡呆症的人,記憶力會在一年內迅速退化,而因為年老引起的健忘症患者,通常在發生的頭幾年內,都看不出明顯的記憶減退症狀。

(2) 咖啡增強記憶力
年輕男女為了健康、特別不喝含有咖啡因的「去咖啡因咖啡」,不但是一種流行,也成了一種簡約主義的風尚。但是最新研究卻指出,「傳統」咖啡的咖啡因,還是有那麼一點刺激腦力的效果,所以可別太排斥香濃醇厚的「黑咖啡」唷!「美國國家科學院期刊」的最新研究報告指出,長期記憶的建構需要「鈣離子」的刺激,從食物裡增加咖啡因的攝取,是幫助腦神經細胞補充鈣離子的好方法。以色列研究人員發現,把咖啡因加入海馬區部位的腦神經細胞時,細胞內鈣離子濃度不但大量增加,而且也使得腦神經細胞膨脹了33%之多。此外,咖啡因也使得腦神經細胞的樹狀棘突變長了,同時也刺激新發育的樹狀棘突增生。由於樹狀棘突喜歡在原有密集的部位生長,而腦神經傳導訊息必須藉由樹狀棘突來發佈,因此研究人員認為,咖啡因不但能夠刺激腦細胞的生長,而且還能夠幫助神經傳導訊息的傳遞發佈。咖啡因與腦部長期記憶力的關連性應該如何解釋,研究人員還需要更多的觀察與實驗。但是研究人員認為,對咖啡因的作用繼續深入了解,將是解開人類記憶奧祕的關鍵之一。要特別提醒您的是,動物實驗結果顯示,咖啡因吃多了,會導致血壓上升、內分泌壓力荷爾蒙的增加、心血管疾病、乳房囊腫、新生兒缺陷、生殖器官功能障礙等後遺症。所以可別為了增強記憶力,而猛灌咖啡唷!愛喝咖啡的你,也不要一下字就戒掉喝咖啡的習慣,免得發生頭痛、肚子痛、痙攣抽筋的後遺症,又以為科學家在騙人。「美國營養師學會」學術研討會的最新研究報告建議,咖啡引用量每天不要超過三杯,是比較恰當的。所以喝咖啡超過這個量的人,可以每天少喝一口,或是盡量沖得淡一點,慢慢降到三杯的量。愛喝咖啡的你,三杯咖啡的量,也應該不算太困難的限制吧!

(3) 想要"老當憶壯"? 應多補充維他命E

隨年齡增長而發生的記憶力下降的現象是非常地普遍,這種現象目前有學者主張可能是因為人的氧化壓力 ( oxidative stress),這是一種氧化自由基長久累積的現象, 讓自由基攻擊腦部某些細胞所引起的記憶力衰退,如果真的如此,是不是'將體內的氧化壓力消除,比如說補充抗氧化劑,就能夠讓記憶力 " 老當憶壯"?美國印地安納大學的研究人員發表於 " American Journal of Epidemology 1999,150;37-44" 的醫學期刊一篇研究報告指出,補充抗氧化劑尤其是維他命E,可能能夠讓您" 老當憶壯"。研究分成不同種族群,並且測量血中各種常見的抗氧化劑如維他命A, C, E, selenium.... 濃度與記憶力的關係, 結果發現,只有維他命E與記憶力表現有關係,其它則無關,體內有較高濃度維他命E者,記憶力較佳。抗氧化的研究是醫學研究的一個主流,除了與老化,癌症和慢性病有關,也能夠解開環境到底對於我們的老化與疾病有何種程度的關係,相關的研究正不斷地進行中

工作繁忙、K書要緊,所以你都沒有定時定量地吃飯?想要減肥、又怕太胖,所以你絕對不吃油油的脂肪?如果你有這些壞習慣,可要小心啦,腦子記憶力越來越差,後果就自己承擔啦!「美國流行病學期刊」的最新研究報告指出,血中維他命E濃度偏低時,記憶力通常比較差。如果不按照正常時間用餐,記憶力更是糟得可怕。印第安那大學研究人員在 1988-1994年間針對4809位60歲以上的老年人血中抗氧化維他命及銫濃度進行分析,以了解記憶力與這些微量營養素的關係。數據分析顯示,7%受試者出現記憶力差的問題。但是進一步分析維他命E特別低的這一組人時,記憶力差的比例增加到11%。研究人員也發現,吃飯有一餐沒一餐的人,記憶力也會比較差。進餐習慣正常的人,記憶力差的比例是7%;進餐習慣不正常的人,記憶力差的比例則高達20%。研究人員認為,維他命E這種抗氧化維生素,能夠發揮清除自由基的效果,達到防止腦部細胞脂質成份氧化變性之目的。但是研究人員認為,從食物中攝取維他命E,才是比較值得推薦的做法。維他命E的成人建議攝取量是每天 10-12毫克。這種脂溶性維生素吃多了會對身體產生傷害,因此最好從植物油(玉米、黃豆、葵花子、油菜籽)攝取,才能夠增加身體健康,又不會吃得過量。

(4) 運動能增進學習記憶力

實驗證明,走路、爬樓梯、韻律操等運動,能促進腦神經的運作功能,做自己喜歡的工作或活動,對記憶、學習力將有明顯助益。小鼠的實驗發現:與不運動的一群相比,那些經常在環圈上跑動的小鼠,牠們長出新的腦細胞,也比較「聰明」,有比較好的學習與記憶能力。這項研究是由美國加州沙爾克研究中心的甫拉革博士(H.VAN PRAAG)主持,發表在美國科學院學刊(PNAS 96:13427,1996)。他利用莫里斯水迷藏(MORRIS WATER MAZE)的方法來測驗小鼠的學習與記憶能力。這個測驗是將小鼠放到一個小池塘,池塘的水是不透明的,水底下藏有台階。以小鼠落水開始游泳找到台階的花費時間做為學習能力的衡量。如果小鼠做過幾次同樣的實驗,牠找到台階的時間會縮短。甫拉革把做了許多環圈跑步的小鼠,大約相當於每天跑五公里路,與不做運動的一組放到這水迷藏。那些做運動的小鼠找到台階的時間比不做運動的一組要快。另外甫拉革用電極來測量小鼠的腦神經細胞的長期增強作用(LTP,LONG TERM POTENTIATI ON),LTP是學習與記憶過程必經的機制作用,是突觸前細胞(負責信號的傳送)與突觸後細胞(負責信號的接受)之間的運作關鍵。甫拉革發現:那些多運動的小鼠的LTP的強度比不運動的一組要來得高。從腦的解剖分析,甫拉革又發現:那些做很多環圈跑動的小鼠,牠們的海馬腦區的腦細胞比不做運動的一組要來得多。我們知道海馬腦區是負責學習與記憶的重要部位。許多失智者的海馬腦區的細胞比正常人少。甫拉革進一步試探是否別的運動也能達到相同的效果。他讓小鼠做水中游泳運動。但他發現:水中運動與不運動的一組,在學習的測驗上並沒有什麼區別,牠們的腦細胞也沒有什麼不一樣。一般來說,運動能提高腦部營養因子(TROP HIC FACTOR)的製造。一個已知的事實:在胚胎發育期、神經細胞端賴營養因子的供應,才能生存成長。有可能在運動時產生的營養因子能促進腦細胞的成長,即使在成熟的動物上。那為什麼只有跑環圈的運動才能促進學習能力,增強LTP、增加海馬腦區的細胞呢?一個可能的解釋是:小鼠喜歡做環圈跑輪運動,但水中游泳是被迫著去做的,故不會對腦細胞有什麼作用或刺激。但去做喜歡做的運動或工作,做起來自然是心甘情願,與被迫著去做討厭的工作,其效果當然不一樣。其實最近美國阿利桑那大學報告運動,尤其是韻律性的(如走路、爬樓梯、韻律操等)能促進腦神經的運作功能:(一)反應時間,是腦與神經系統健康情況的衡量,(二)辨識能力,是識別形狀圖案的能力衡量,(三)數理能力。運動能增加血液的循環,包括腦部。血液是帶動氧氣與營養分的媒介。運動也能產生許多神經化學成分。甫拉革的實驗研究固然注重在跑路能加強學習能力。但是筆者認為去做任何自己喜歡做的運動,一定可以收到許多效果,包括學習。適當的運動也能使人放鬆,忘記煩惱,促進身心的健康,能延年益壽。運動與飲食是我們能控制的二件保健要素。

(5) 睡得越多,記憶力越強

公司企業通常把資料備份時間設定在晚上,不但可以節省公司電腦作業成本,也可以確保重要的企業資產不致流失。同樣的場面也可見於人腦的運作上。權威期刊「自然」集團出版的「自然神經科學」期刊的最新研究報告指出,白天進行學習的腦部區域,到了夜間入睡的時候,會重新起動,繼續進行運作,顯示出睡眠與學習的關聯性相當值得重視。研究人員利用腦部掃描分析儀及區域性腦部血流量偵測器針對腦部活動進行記錄,特別是學習新事物時,及晚上入睡的時候。結果顯示,經過學習之後,中腦及腦部皮質等區域的活動相當明顯,即使是入睡的時候,也有活動狀況;但是沒有經過學習的受試者,即使是在晚上,也不會出現這種反應。研究人員將繼續研究睡覺與學習的關係,同時也將繼續進行夢境與記憶的關聯性;但是本次研究的重點確實符合了傳統說法:「小孩子睡得好,才能學得快」。

(6) 常作夢增強記憶力


白天努力學習困難的新事物之後,晚上沈沈睡去,可以在作夢時增強白天學到的東西嗎?比利時列日大學科學家麥凱的研究發現,腦部可以藉著作夢來重新練習白天的經驗和學到的東西,好讓它們在記憶中更加穩固,以便日後取用。 這項研究是由麥凱帶領的一群科學家,利用先進的PET影像掃描科技,觀察受試者眼球迅速運動(REM)的睡眠階段後發現,人們在學習新事物時,腦部活動的區域與血液的流動狀況,與作夢時一樣活躍。他們指出,受試者可能是在眼球迅速運動的睡眠階段,在夢中練習白天的測驗,把學到的東西儲存起來。 人類一生當中有三分之一的時間都在睡覺,但是科學家至今對睡眠的目的仍所知甚少。不過科學家相信,作夢或許有助於釐清情緒、印象與其他觀念。科學界對動物研究已經得到類似的結果。在迷宮中跑過新路線的老鼠,白天腦部忙碌運作的部分,在稍後睡眠時會更加活躍。

研究顯示,睡覺時會做一些奇奇怪怪的夢,原因在於腦部在把記憶歸檔時,找不到可供參考的資料。哈佛醫學院精神病學醫師史提克哥說,大腦把需要保存的記憶歸檔,須經一連串的步驟,做夢就是其一。他說,夢就是人體、精神上淨空時「收文箱」的方式,「重點在於,把記憶放進檔案櫃裡適當的位置。」他說:「許多在眼皮快速轉動期所做的夢,我們在半夜做的那些奇奇怪怪的夢,都是腦部在尋找可供參考的『索引』。腦部在找尋一些可供參考的資料──看這個跟那個合不合。」參考資料不合時,夢就會顯得很奇怪;合的話,就可加強記憶。對健忘者的研究,不失為證明這個理論的方法,因為健忘者缺少這些重要記憶步驟中的一環。他對二十七名自願者做的試驗顯示,健忘的人在玩俄羅斯方塊後,可能記不得曾經玩過這個遊戲,但卻會夢見遊戲裡的影像;而且健忘的人再怎麼玩,技巧也不會勝過記憶力正常的人。史提克哥說:「這個結果告訴我們,腦部在拼湊夢的時候,並不知道生活裡實際發生的事,也沒有去取用相關的記憶。」他說:「我們有兩個不同的記憶系統。海馬部位負責把日常生活發生的事件編碼,所以當我問你:「早餐吃些什麼?」時,你就會到海馬去找資料。第二個系統是新皮質部位。我們出去吃早餐時,我問你:『你要吃什麼?』這個問題和上一個不同,你會去新皮質找答案。」研究人員說,健忘者是由於海馬部位受損,腦部無法到海馬部位找答案,而是到新皮質系統找到答案。
(7) 藍苺強記憶力、預防老化
愛吃蔬菜水果的你,又有了更好的保健選擇。「神經科學」最新研究報告顯示,藍苺的抗氧化成份能夠防止游離自由基對人體的傷害,有助於防止老化、活化腦力、增強記憶力。研究人員發現,以藍苺、草莓、波菜等萃取物餵養19個月大的實驗大白鼠時(相當於人類的65-70歲),藍苺組大白鼠的記憶力測試表現最出色,也最不容易出現老化導致的行動遲緩問題。這是繼藍苺強力抗氧化成份名列各種蔬菜水果之冠後,又一個證實藍苺保健功效的研究。研究人員認為,植物的抗氧化成份,不僅只能用於疾病防治之用,最重要的就是,還能夠預防老化、有效提升人類生活品質。
本研究經費是由美國農業部及美國國家衛生研究院老年醫學研究中心贊助。由於藍苺在亞洲地區並不普遍,只有歐美國家才買得到新鮮產品,亞洲地區朋友不妨多吃點含有藍苺萃取物的果汁、果醬、飲料、優酪乳等產品。


(8) 增加記憶力的食物
1、牛奶。牛奶是一種近乎完美的營養品。它富含蛋白質、鈣,及大腦所必需的氨基酸。牛奶中的鈣最易被人吸收,是腦代謝不可缺少的重要物質。此外,它還含對神經細胞十分有益的維生素B1等元素。如果用腦過度而失眠時,睡前一杯熱牛奶有助入睡。

2、雞蛋。大腦活動功能,記憶力強弱與大腦中乙酰膽鹼含量密切相關。實驗證明,吃雞的妙處在於:當蛋黃中所含豐富的卵磷脂被酶分解後,能產生出豐富的乙酰膽鹼,進入血液又會很快到達腦組織中,可增強記憶力。國外研究證實,每天吃1、2隻雞蛋就可以向機體供給足夠的膽鹼,對保護大腦,提高記憶力大有好處。

3、魚類。它們可以向大腦提供優質蛋白質和鈣,淡水魚所含的脂肪酸多為不飽和脂肪酸,不會引起血管硬化,對腦動脈血管無危害,相反,還能保護腦血管、對大腦細胞活動有促進作用。

4、味精。味精的主要成分是谷氨酸鈉,它在胃酸的作用下可轉化為谷氨酸。谷氨酸是參加人體腦代謝的唯一氨基酸,能促進智力發育,維持和改進大腦機能。常攝入些味精,對改善智力不足及記憶力障礙有幫助。由於味精會使腦內乙酰膽鹼增加,因而對神經衰弱症也有一定療效。

5、花生。花生富含卵磷脂和腦磷脂,它是神經系統所需要的重要物質,能延緩腦功能衰退,抑制血小板凝集,防止腦血栓形成。實驗證實,常食花生可改善血液循環、增強記憶、延緩衰老,是名符其實的「長生果」。

莫扎特的音樂能提高人的學習和記憶能力,這種現象被稱為「莫扎特效應」。它的科學原理在哪裡?發現這一效應的美國科學家最近宣佈,他們發現了其中的分子基礎。
1993年,美國威斯康星奧什科什大學的神經科學家羅謝等人發現,大學生聽10分鐘的莫扎特《D大調雙鋼琴奏鳴曲》後,在空間推理測試中的得分有明顯的提高。這一發現激起了公眾對莫扎特音樂的熱情,但一些科學家對此表示懷疑。

據英國《新科學家》雜誌網站報導,羅謝及其合作者最近在舊金山舉行的認知神經學研討會上說,莫扎特奏鳴曲也能提高大鼠的學習和記憶能力。他們在新研究中發現,聽了莫扎特奏鳴曲的大鼠,其大腦海馬區內刺激和改變腦細胞聯繫幾種基因的活躍水平有明顯提高。
這些基因分別負責生成一種神經生長素、一種與學習和記憶有關的化學物質以及一種神經突觸生長蛋白質。研究人員希望,這一發現有助於為阿爾茨海默氏症和其他神經退化疾病的患者設計音樂療法。
